Dragons Abreast Melbourne Pink Phoenix, Dragons Abreast Gippsland Waratahs and Dragons Abreast Geelong Juggernauts are hosting a Pink Sports Day in support of Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) on the weekend of Sat Sep 23/Sun Sep 24, 2023. Thank you for getting involved in our fundraising and helping BCNA to inform, support, connect and represent all Australians affected by breast cancer. Dragons Abreast Australia crews are made up of Breast Cancer survivors and their supporters, so supporting BCNA is a cause very close to our hearts. Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australian women with one in seven diagnosed in their lifetime. Over 20,000 women are expected to be diagnosed with breast cancer this year as well as over 170 men. Your support will help these women, men and families to not go through their journey alone. On this weekend at our regular training sessions, we'll fundraise for BCNA by: 1. Wearing all BCNA PINK merchandise gear, purchased from BCNA 2. DA Melbourne will be conducting a Pink Cake Stall to fundraise from other dragon boat teams present & the general public, with BCNA Donation Tins available as well 3. DA Gippsland will be selling BCNA merchandise and running a raffle at the Howitt Park Market Bairnsdale 8-12 noon. 4. DA Geelong will be Pinking up and paddling on the Barwon river wearing BCNA merchandise. 5. During the lead up to the Pink Sports Day, all crews will employ our social media sites to promote this fundraiser, which will include a direct link to a BCNA donation portal, which will tally our donation amount. Our club's fundraising target is $1,000, so let's get this going!!! 💖🐲🔥The results are in! 💖🐲🔥 The inaugural Victorian Dragons Abreast Clubs #PLAY4BCNA fundraiser for the Breast Cancer Network Australia was a huge success! Thank you to everyone who contributed to our tally-we raised $1,305 to enable BCNA to continue supporting Australians like us who have been impacted by Breast Cancer. 💖🐲🔥 Well done DA Melbourne Pink Phoenix Gippsland Waratahs DA and DA Geelong - Juggernauts crews who banded together to support this event

A big day out for the Waratahs at the Howitt Park Market. Terrific weather ensured lots of foot traffic past our display. It was great to meet enthusiastic members of the public interested in Dragon Boating and keen to come and have a go. We welcomed three dragon passes into the boat in our after market paddle. 🐉 🐉 🛶 Congratulations to Kirsty the winnner of our fresh food hamper. Thanks to Aldi and Kmart for their contributions to our hamper. We also sold plenty of BCNA Merch!! 💖🐲💕

Dragons Abreast Geelong enjoyed a beautiful morning paddling on the mighty Barwon River. Our crew pinked it up- even our dragon was wearing a BCNA scarf! With Jimmy Sweeping, we had a great training session- paddling hard for BCNA! Morning tea and fundraising followed- well done to all our members! We are proud to support Breast Cancer Network Australia and encourage all Breast Cancer survivors to get active after diagnosis! Join us for a paddle 💕💖🐲
Today DA Melbourne Pinked up and Played for BCNA!! We set up our Pink Cake stall at 8.30am with lots of scrumptious cakes, slices and treats for our Docklands community. We had lots of customers who were keen to learn more about Dragons Abreast, and support the work of the Breast Cancer Network Australia. At 10.30 we took to the water in our beautifully dressed dragon boat. Our crew was a beautiful sight dressed up in our pink BCNA outfits, with many waves and photos from passing ferries!

Dragons Abreast Gippsland Waratahs will be at the Howitt Park Market, Bairnsdale this Sunday selling BCNA merchandise. Come and say hi and have a chat, check out our boat and equipment. We are paddling on the Mitchell River straight after the market at around 1.30pm. A great chance to join us for fun and exercise. The sweetest way you can support BCNA is by purchasing a yummy cake or two or three! We hope our Docklands Dragon Boat Buddies will all stop by for a tasty after paddling treat - we have lots of amazing bakers in our crew! 💖🐲🔥

We will be paddling on the beautiful Barwon River in our BCNA gear raising awareness and much needed funds for the Breast Cancer Network Australia! We are thrilled to be able to support BCNA by doing what we do best- PADDLING!! Our members have experienced first hand the support and information that BCNA provides to Breast Cancer Survivors. It really made a difference as part of our recovery to be treated as an individual and not just as another statistic. We hope to raise awareness and funds on our Dragons Abreast Pink Sports Day next week 💖🐲🔥

Dragons Abreast Melbourne and Dragons Abreast Gippsland teamed up over the Weekend, with members paddling together at the Battle of The Barwon Regatta in Geelong! A fun day with great friends and plenty of racing. We are looking forward to our PLAY4BCNA Dragons Abreast Pink Sports Day, and it was a great opportunity to share ideas for our events. 💖🐲🔥

This Year for the first time, Dragons Abreast Australia crews will be taking to the water as part of the Breast Cancer Network Australia’s Pink Sports Day initiative. Our Dragon boat paddling crews are made up of Breast Cancer Survivors and their supporters, and we are absolutely thrilled to be taking part, raising much needed funds for BCNA.
