Albury Wodonga Kart Club (AWKC) is hosting a Pink Racing Day in support of Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA). My son, Cas, has nominated me to race in The Pink Plate 2026 and raise money for this important cause while shining a light on women in motorsport. BCNA do important work. They support all Australians affected by breast cancer and provide connection for their families. One in seven women will be diagnosed in their lifetime. Cancer touches the lives of many. It has touched the lives of people in my family and my friends. Sadly, although not breast cancer, we lost my mum to cancer just 18 months ago. In this month, which would have been her 69th birthday, I turn 40; a significant time to take on a meaningful challenge in life. Cas has thrown the challenge out to me- to learn to drive a kart in just a few short months and race for a great cause in the Pink Plate on 23rd- 25th Jan 2026. I am up for the challenge and ask for your support!

Cas and I joined our local karting club in Jan 2024 when Cas tried karting for the first time. We had no karting or mechanical experience. The members of Albury Wodonga Kart Club generously volunteer their time to support all people who want to try karting and potentially get into a new sport. We have drivers from as young as 6 years old starting from the grass roots of motorsport racing, through to experienced racers who have gone on to have successful careers in Supercars and other driving series. It is thanks to the support of local businesses and the tireless work of individuals that AWKC can offer this opportunity to our community.

Come along for a weekend of fun at AWKC on 23rd-25th Jan 2026 and watch the girls and women race for a great cause! We will have raffles, prizes, displays and lots going on. If you would like to make a donation please use the link.

I thank you in advance for your donations, time and interest in our club and fundraising
