Avondale FC continue their amazing support of BCNA in 2022

Amazing pink support on show at Avondale FC

After a successful first PLAY4BCNA Pink Sports Day in 2021. BCNA was thrilled to have Avondale FC join us in hosting a PLAY4BCNA Pink Sports Day in the 2022 season.

The day was kicked off with a junior girls clinic,  supported and lead by the junior girl coaches. Melbourne Victory A-League women’s captain Kayla Morrison and Paige Zois also joined the clinic teaching the kids some skills before signing autographs, and answering Q&A.

The morning was made easier thanks to Pink Sports Day Partner Red Energy who donated a coffee cart which provided parents with coffee and pink filled cannoli’s for a  donation to BCNA.

Following the junior girl’s clinic, Avondale FC’s senior women’s team hosted a special charity exhibition match against an Afghan Women’s team. Before the senior men’s team took the field in their game against Heidelberg United FC. To mark the occasion both Avondale FC teams wore a custom #PinkSportsDay playing kit.

Off the field, Avondale hosted a luncheon, MC'd by BBC Sport Commentator Louise Taffa. The luncheon featured speeches from BCNA CEO Kirsten Pilatti, breast cancer survivor Kathryn Elliott and Afghan player Bahara.

BCNA was thrilled to have the 'pink support' of Avenger Park again this season!  We would like to acknowledge the immense effort put in by the staff, volunteers and committee at the club, along with the incredible generosity of Avondale FC partners, HWL Ebsworth Lawyers, Clover, William Adams Cat, Better Living Group, Winslow Constructors and MFJ Constructions and BCNA Pink Sports Day program partner, Red Energy.
