Breast Cancer Network Australia is thrilled to learn that Thomas and Jarrod Berry have been shortlisted as finalists for the coveted AFL ‘Jim Stynes Community Award’ for 2024 with the winner of this award to be announced at the Brownlow medal awards night on Monday 23 September.
Last November Thomas and Jarrod, along with their brother Joel and lifelong friends Ben and Will ran a ‘Marathon for Mum’ back in their hometown of Horsham which also raised over $80,000 for BCNA. The event was held to acknowledge the ten-year anniversary of the passing of their mum, Jedda Berry from breast cancer and to bring the community together to honour her life, legacy and lessons.
The same group of young men had organised a head shave in 2018 for Jedda’s five year anniversary and these two events have raised more than $140,000 for BCNA. We are incredibly proud of their efforts and can’t wait to tune in on the night.
